Evidence GOD IS
Have you life and breath and movement?
We only live because GOD IS!
Did not the sun rise this morning,
Faithfully, by power of HIS
Are the creatures 'round you stirring?
Do the birds still fly and sing?
Do the cows graze in the meadows?
GOD IS and sustains all living things!
Are the mighty mountains standing?
Do ocean waves still race to shore?
Do clouds gather; then, fall as rain?
Do mists still rise to heavens o'er?
Consider the lifeless-looking seed - -
It must have soil in which to grow
And sun and rain and life within - -
GOD supplies its every need!
GOD IS! - - would you deny that?
Would you deny your very breath?
Would you deny that you have blood,
Coursing and preventing death?
And, whose power rules these things?
Does any but GOD have such control?
A thousand times, over - - NO!
Omnipotence is exclusively HIS to hold!
GOD IS unchanging and eternal;
HE IS omniscient, merciful, kind;
GOD IS LOVE, Peace, all our Hope.
GOD IS -- what glorious truth to find!
My 10 year old granddaughter Abby ends this poem - -
Forever and ever - - GOD IS!
Thankful that GOD IS!
By the mercies of God,

Soaring
In mind, I soar away a while
To sit on grassy hill;
To view clouds floating overhead - -
To have my senses filled - -
To watch the wind-blown grasses,
Like waves upon a sea - -
Glistening and changing,
Expansive shades of green;
While, in the valley, grazing,
And taking time to romp,
White lambkins dot the landscape,
'Neath cotton puffs aloft.
And, in this perfect picture,
Children, all, joyfully run,
Flying multi-colored kites - -
Toward the heavens, flung.
In reality, there's drizzle here,
Upon the land - - such needed drink!
Time to thank GOD, we're so blessed
In this hour and day, I think!
By the mercies of God,

For Words of Grace
GOD sees me, and HE hears me;
HE knows my heart and mind.
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue".
O that good be spoken by mine!
Am I bitter when days are hard,
Resenting those I've sworn to love?
GOD sees me -- HE knows my heart!
Nothing is hidden from HIM above!
LORD, take my heart, cleanse it, mold it,
Till my words break forth in joy.
Teach me, LORD, to lean upon THEE;
Lest, words of death, I employ.
Let me encourage and not tear down;
Let me listen more and speak less.
Let me be patient and kind to others.
Grant me words of grace to express!
by mercies of GOD,

Psalms 139:1-4
"1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me .
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising,
thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down,
and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue,
but , lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether."
Proverbs 15:-4
"4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life:
but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
"Proverbs 18:20-21
"20 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth;
and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

Beloved and Forgiven
O forgiven ones, let us forgive!
Comforted ones, let us share
Comfort with which we're comforted - -
Embracing others with tender care!
Seeing ones, O let us tell
Wonders of GOD we've seen.
Hearing ones, let us proclaim - -
Christ makes hearts all clean!
Beloved ones, let us, then, love,
Thanking GOD for His grace,
Rejoicing - - our Lord reigns above.
O rest in His perfect embrace!
By the mercies of God,

In Hands of the Great I AM
As if aboard ship on restless seas,
And buffeted on every side;
Our sight dims amid the clouds.
Years speed past; health declines.
We're filled with sadness at times,
When loved ones depart earth's shores.
And, yet, we trust their spirits rejoice
In GOD's presence, forevermore.
Weariness can never enter Heaven!
So, let us behave as dear lambs.
Fear not! all is well, dear friends --
We're held precious by THE GREAT I AM!
By the mercies of God,

Insidious Scheme
O the sad condition of a land
That thinks to thrive without GOD!
How rapidly it tends toward death,
Following a treacherous road!
Do its citizens know there's a scheme,
Devised ages before present times - -
A scheme against all whom GOD loves,
Full of hateful hurts of all kinds - -
A divisive scheme of enticements --
Touted "must haves" in deceitful wraps;
A scheme of lies to steal away joys - -
The most insidious of traps!
O but Peace reigns -- the glorious Lord!
Christ is not, was not, and never shall be
Deceived by Satan's gilded lies.
Cling to the Lord -- the Way for you and me!
by mercies of GOD,

HOLY BIBLE, KJV,
2 Chronicles 7:11-14
"11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house:
and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the LORD,
and in his own house, he prosperously effected.
12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him,
I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself
for an house of sacrifice.
13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command
the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Why Doubt GOD?
Since GOD can make the earth to quake,
Why doubt HE divided the waters
And made the sea to be dry ground
The Israelites could walk over?
Since GOD makes mists rise after the rains
And gathers them, making scuttling clouds,
Why doubt HE first watered earth by mists,
Ere rain first fell from heavens' shrouds?
If GOD makes great trees to age and die - -
And, their seeds to sprout from earth --
Why doubt HE gives eternal life;
And, to His chosen, spiritual birth?
If natural things are impossible to man,
Why doubt GOD is all-powerful, over all?
HE reigns supreme o'er all that is!
His NAME, the angels of Heaven extol!
By the mercies of God,

I Believe I am Thine
Though cloaked in mortality,
I believe I'm loved, LORD -- that, I am Thine!
Though I fail along the way here,
I'm so thankful, trusting I'm Thine!
I believe - - for THOU art my comfort!
I believe - - for THOU art my Peace!
I believe in THEE trustworthy;
And, that, all good gifts are of THEE!
I believe THOU art the Creator;
I believe THOU parted the sea
To make a dry crossing for Israelites.
I believe THOU art Protection for me!
I believe The Comforter's with us!
I believe - - my heart, Thy Spirit indwells.
I believe THOU gavest me new birth,
O GOD WHO doeth all things well!
By the mercies of God,

Breathing, Seeing, Hearing
Who can evaluate the gift of breath,
So totally vital until death?
What of eyesight -- vision we're given
That lets us perceive height, depth, & breadth?
And, there's much more for our viewing --
We see lovely dawnings, East;
And, the flame colorings of sunset;
Trees and flowers, mountains and seas;
Brilliant stones; and, fledgling's flash;
Butterflies with their reds and blues;
And, star-studded skies at night;
Also, the rainbow's beautiful hues - -
Wonderful vision! And, wonderful to hear --
Voices of loved ones; birds that sing;
Winds, sweeping hill and plain;
Thunders, clapping; thrumming rain;
Children's laughter; babies' cooing;
Bells ringing; waves upon shore;
Cattle lowing; bees, droning - -
All these things and so much more --
Precious TRUTH - - GOD's HOLY WORD- -
Encouraging, admonishing too;
Instructions from the LORD Omnipotent!
Singing of hymns, to HIS praise attuned!
All thanks to GOD for these gifts!
By the mercies of God,

Humble Ourselves, Pray, Seek, and Turn
Pray of the LORD -- men's hearts, to turn;
Pray that our leaders may humbly learn
To follow in pathways where HE leads.
Only of GOD's mercies can we proceed --
A nation empowered, others to bless;
A nation with abundance to possess --
A bounty to share of harvests good;
A land glorifying GOD as it should!
But, first/foremost, dear children of GOD,
Let us walk humbly; HIS Name, applaud,
Pleading for mercy, seeking after HIM;
And, turn from our wicked ways of sin!
by mercies of GOD,

Childhood Meanderings
Along on hills, we skipped and played - -
At times, upon pine-needled floor
With rich scent of woods about,
Trees' spires and the heavens, o'er.
The white pines seemed to be the best,
With slippery, golden carpet beneath.
There, we could find runs for homemade sled;
Or, perhaps, slide down slopes on feet.
Through hollows ran small gurgling brooks,
Which, often, our full attention, drew
With their pebbles, lizards, and minnows.
Not a moment of boredom, there, we knew!
By the mercies of God,

Held Precious
Tell, dear child, do you feel insignificant?
I'm not referring to how tall you stand.
Are you aware that you greatly matter?
Do you consider evidences at hand?
Think of your food, drink, clothing, shelter.
Tell, are you blessed with others to share
Your days here - - life's hopes and dreams?
Of GOD ever-present, are you aware?
We can learn from Zacchaeus' example - -
He climbed above his normal view,
That he might look upon Jesus.
In hearts, we should all do this too,
Rising up above our lowly confines - -
Remembering, our blessings, to count;
Confessing - - the Lord is the greatest Gift!
Searching His Loving kindnesses out!
"Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends."
How beloved you are, dear child of GOD -
Held precious in LOVE that never ends!
by mercies of GOD,

Luke 19:1-6
"1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus,
which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press,
because he was little of stature.
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him:
for he was to pass that way .
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him,
and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down;
for to day I must abide at thy house.
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully."

GOD is Deliverer
Let not fear seize upon your heart,
Taunting you with troubles past,
With grievous, soul-shaking things!
Consider HIM WHO held you fast!
Say not, "what if it happens again?" - -
Or, "what if something worse should come?"
No! Say, "look what GOD brought us through?"
Exalt the Deliverer -- the Almighty ONE!
There's freedom in this - - the LORD delivers!
We know HE's brought us to this day!
How HE's blessed us and borne us along!
Then, with faith, let us say - -
Thank you LORD for bearing us through
Those most crushing times of life - -
For leading us when all seemed darkness!
Praises to THEE, Eternal Light!
By the mercies of God,
