Awe of the Redeemed

HOLY BIBLE, KJV, Romans 8:29-30
"29.) For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30.) Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

~~~~~~~~~~
O what Love, past understanding,
That Jesus died for you and me!
O what mercy for poor sinners!
O what Grace which set us free!
O what streams of mercy pouring
From our Father on His Throne,
Through our Lord, Who, sin-abhorring,
Over death, the victory won!
O what Love for all God's chosen!
Unparalleled Love with which HE calls!
Redeeming Love! What purchase of blood!
Justifying Love for HIS children, all!
O what righteousness in Christ!
O what glory we believe to see!
What wondrous Hope, burning brighter!
What LOVE of GOD for you and me!
GOD BE PRAISED!
By the mercies of God,
Behold God's Wonders
Seemingly endless are the skies above.
Awesome are mighty mountains, tall;
And, bounding plains across continents,
And, streams tumbling in waterfall.
Heavens and earth are filled with wonders:
All wrought by the power of God;
All created, sustained, by His wisdom.
His Holy Name, then, let us applaud!
We cannot begin to know the scope,
The reach of His Almighty power!
We can't conceive how great He is,
The God sustaining us this hour!
Did you know HE "weighed the mountains",
"Measured the waters in the hollow of His hand",
"Comprehended the dust of earth in a measure",
And "meted out heaven with the span"?
"To whom then will ye liken God?"
He "sitteth upon the circle of the earth";
He "stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain".
He’s unparalleled! None fathom His worth!
~~~~~~~~~~

HOLY BIBLE, KJV, Isaiah 40:
"9.) O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

12.) Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

22.) It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

25.) To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. "

Snow-Time Reflections

I'm thinking on the wonder of snow,
As waves upon waves of it do blow,
Swirling whiteness round and round,
Its beautiful flakes falling to ground.

I'm here in this house, snug and warm,
No stock to feed out in our barn,
We've don't milk cows as in years ago,
Nor, have cattle to feed out in the snow.

No old water bucket needs to be filled,
Or, drawn up by a windlass at well.
No fires to stoke against the cold;
The gas-heater flames are burning bold.

No bundling up so I won't freeze,
As I think about morning coffee or tea.
Perhaps we'll just have some hot cocoa,
Before it's time for my husband to go

With four-wheel drive, not buggy or cart
Behind a horse prancing to start.
Short of a blizzard, the mail goes out.
My postman’s faithful, there's no doubt.

Our children are grown, no little ones here.
No snow from boots making puddles, clear,
Near to the doorway, across the floor;
No little mittens to dry any more.

Snow! What message has it today?
"Slow down!" "Enjoy", it seems to say!
Amid this beauty God has wrought,
I'm pensive, reflective, in my thought.

By the mercies of God,

Matchless God of Grace

What wondrous gift our Savior gave
Upon the cruel tree!
What punishment, what hell endured,
For fallen ones like me!

Mortal words cannot explain
Such pain as He endured.
No depiction can express;
'Tis from us all obscured.

If we had been present there
On old Mt. Calvary,
To see Him bleed and die;
Still, we could not perceive:

The torments Christ endured;
Not as through His eyes,
Not the depth of Love He gave;
Nor, feel His Spirit's cries.

We have not His faithfulness;
We own no redeeming power;
Nor, have had sweat as great drops of blood
When we've gone unto God in prayer.

O may we forever see Him
Through an eye of faith:
Faithful Savior! Victorious!
The matchless God of Grace!

By the mercies of God,

Indescribable Love

O God of everlasting light,
Thou, brighter than the great day star,
Praise be Thine for Thy revealing
Of Thy Love, wisdom, and power.

Praise be Thine that poor mortals
Have an access to Thy throne
Through the righteousness of Christ
Who bled and died for us, alone.

Thy Love excels all else, dear Master!
Words can't express, we cannot grasp,
The height, the depth, the width, the reach,
Of the indescribable Love Thou hast.

Glory be Thine for Thy Creation!
Glory be Thine for Salvation's plan.
Glory be Thine that "It is finished";
Christ's redemption of chosen man!

Song of the Redeemed

Forever cleansed, forever free,
God is my Father; Christ died for me!
By guilt and sin no longer bound;
In HIS righteousness, I'm found!

Praises and thanks to God I'll sing,
Grace and Salvation, being the theme.
O consider the depths of God's Love!
Praises, Praises, for our Savior above!

By the mercies of God,

Lovelier Than All

O Gracious Giver of lovely gifts,
Thou Who art lovelier than all,
I seek to know more of Thy heart;
This: my desire, my spirit's call.

When I view Thy wondrous works,
Let my praise be centered on Thee,
Knowing Thy beauty excelleth all,
Great God of Love full and free.

Thou lendest beauty unto flowers
Which yield their sweet perfumes.
To see more of Thy beauty, I aspire;
Not for the things the world pursues.

Almighty Love, in Whom I live,
My comfort, my trust, though I die;
I yearn to know Thee better, Lord;
Make clearer my vision by faith’s eye.

By the mercies of God,

Not Untouchable

KJV, HOLY BIBLE, Hebrews 4:15 -
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

~~~~~~~~~~
Not untouchable, Christ suffered for our shame.
Not unreachable, He hears when we complain.
With compassion, of mercy, God doth give;
And, it's by Grace, that His redeemed live.
Not unforgiving t'ward His adopted child,
Not unchastening, He brings lambs from the wild.
Not unloving, He died to claim His own;
Then, He ascended to His Father’s Home.
Not idle, Jesus intercedes today
With God for us; He hears us when we pray.
Then, seek for Him; list' to His small still voice.
Trust and praise Him; and, in His Love, rejoice!
By the mercies of God,
Greatest Treasure
We see people labor hard in their quests,
As they seek for fortune and fame:
Those looking for some high station in life,
Whose goals are for personal gain.
Some love entertaining with fine food;
And, do such things with great flair.
Some love the very latest styles in clothing;
And, only the finest, they’ll wear.
We’re all seekers for something, here;
Each of us has personal goals.
Sometimes we seek for comfort and peace;
At times, for the things we behold.
O but there’s a Treasure often ignored,
The greatest Treasure, Almighty, and free.
The Love of God Who dwells within,
The One Who comforts you and me!
Our labors can’t procure His Love;
May God help us, all the more to see,
He’s loved us always; He’s ever with us!
His Grace unto His children is free!
By the mercies of God,
Keeper of The Faith
[Wonderful testimony of Paul, a keeper of the faith]:
KJV HOLY BIBLE, 2 Timothy 4:-7
" I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:"
------------
Keeper of The Faith
A keeper of the faith, Lord, bless me to be;
Let Hope abide, that I rest in Thee.
Be Thou my purpose, O Light for the way;
Help me to seek more for Thee each day.
Stir up my heart; make strong my mind;
Guide me in safety, Holy Shepherd so kind.
Grant joy of Thy Salvation and peace to me;
That others, Thy mercies of Grace, may see.
A keeper of the faith, till the day that I die!
A keeper of the faith by Grace from on high!
A keeper of the faith, Lord, bless me to be,
To live, thankfully, knowing: faith is of Thee!
By the mercies of God,
To Rest In Thy Grace
I think of my intents and efforts;
I see, so often I've failed
To finish things I’ve started.
Very few, have I finished well.
YOU see me clearly O Lord;
YOU know about all my faults;
YOU know all my weaknesses;
YOU know my very thoughts.
I quickly become discouraged,
When, I look at failures of me.
Yet, Hope and Love, sustaining,
Shine when I look to Thee.
Lord, turn my eyes unto Thee
To Thy goodness and Almighty power.
O that I'd die to self’s prideful effort;
Then, rest in Thy Grace each hour!
By the mercies of God,
Pilgrim's Prayer
Far from dark forbidden pathways,
O God of Love, Thy children, keep;
Let temptations not o'erwhelm these;
For Thy guidance, help them seek.
Let Thy mercies flow yet freely,
In the flood of Thy free Grace,
Of the blood of Jesus, healing,
Almighty Love, Thou Hiding Place.
Lord, we have no Light without Thee;
Safety, of Thee, must be given.
Safe, to this day, Thou hast brought us.
Glory to Thee, O God in Heaven!
By the mercies of God,
Unchangeable God
Life here on earth is in constant change;
No permanent stations can we arrange.
Days swiftly pass; God made them that way;
Not even one moment can linger or stay.
A seed that takes root in good soil around,
Grows and matures; then, dies, back to ground.
The young little boy grows up to be a man;
He can’t stay in childhood; for, no mortal can.
Dark or golden curls on a child’s head,
Someday may whiten, becoming frosted instead.
Though things are fleeting as we travel here,
The endless Day's awaiting; so, child, don’t fear.
God’s Love never changes; He’s always the same!
He’s Truth; He's trustworthy; praises to His Name!
Up in His Heaven, eternal praises unto God ring;
Throngs gathered around Him joyfully sing.
Let’s meet changes down here, trusting in the Lord;
The Comforter’s with us, we’re taught in His Word.
O Look now with Hope to that permanent Home
In Eternity’s Day full of sweet song.
While we’re here on earth, let’s join to rejoice,
Praising God from our hearts, all, with one voice.
Change here is certain; we can’t know what will be.
Yet, God’s unchangeable, the same, eternally!
By the mercies of God,
