Under clear to partly cloudy skies, wind from the northeast at three mph, with the temperature at sixty-three degrees.

"Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth, they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." (John 5:28-29)

In the preceding verses we have been dealing with those that are or were dead in sin that has been given everlasting life. Now the thought changes from dead in sin to dead in the graves. As sin bringeth forth dead and since we are all sinners by nature and by practice, death will finally come to all our bodies and will be placed in the graves. Yet as we understand this we also realize in this text that all our bodies will be raised, the good and the bad, the righteous and the wicked, those that have done good and those that have done bad will someday come forth from the grave. Some to life everlasting life with Christ, others to everlasting contempt and damnation. The Lord knows who they are and will not miss a one that are his, nor miss a one that are not his. You see, our righteousness is not in ourselves but in the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
