Under clear skies, wind from the east at one mph, with the temperature at 27 degrees.

"For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for it? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." (Romans 8:24-25)

There has been much said about hope through the years. Some in a negative way and some in a positive way. Paul is not using hope in a negative way this morning, but telling us how important it is to have hope. Hope is not a wish, it is not a mist, but it is an anchor of the soul that is both, sure and steadfast, anchored to that within the veil. This anchor is no other than Jesus Christ. The reason that it is called hope is because we can not see it with our natural eyes, we see it through an eye of faith. The reason that we can not see it with our natural eyes is because the resurrection has not come to past yet for our bodies. But when the resurrection comes we will see him as he is, and our hope will cease because the reality of being with the Lord has taken place and there will be no more need of hope. Yet for now we hope, we wait with patience for it because we have that witness within ourselves testifying to this great truth.
