"And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." (Romans 8:17)

In the verse before told us how that we have evidence that we are the children of God. Now this verse brings in the true blessings that we have in Christ because we are the children of God. If we are children of God, then we are also heirs. Being an heir shows us the we are entitled to receive something that belongs to some one else. In this case we will receive and do receive this from our heavenly Father which is God. All good gifts come down from the Father of light, it comes right out of the hand of God. Yet it still gets better because we are more than just an heir, we are joint-heirs with Christ. Everything that belongs to Christ belongs to us because we have been placed in him. You see this rules out anyone having a better gift, a bigger crown of glory when we reach heaven because we are all joint-heirs with Christ.
