Under clear skies, wind from the south at nine mph, with the temperature at 80 degrees.

"And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord." (Acts 11:21)

As we leave this 10th chapter of Acts and enter into the eleventh chapter we find Peter having to explain again why he went to Cornelius because there were such a stir of what had taken place that the gospel was being preached also to the gentiles, to the uncircumcised as well as to the circumcised. Then we find that the disciples was scattered abroad because of the persecution, but the church continued to grow and to prosper as other disciples began preaching to other gentiles. "And the hand of the Lord was with them" and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord." It seems sometimes that the greater the persecutions that the church has to endure for the sake of the truth, the greater the persecutions that seems to follow the ministers that contend for the truth, the more the Lord blesses his church. You see, every thing that we have to endure for the sake of truth, the blessings are always greater. Sometimes I hear some of our preachers complaining about what they have to go through to preach the gospel, but Paul puts it this way, "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are nor worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."
