"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." (Colossians 3:16)
|
I had a thought about this verse that if we let the word of Christ dwell in us richly, it would have to be in all wisdom, because Christ is the only real wisdom that we have. So if that be the case then teaching and admonishing one another would be real easy to do. Yet he says, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. My self I do not have a beautiful voice as some, but the thought is not about the voice but that which comes from the heart. The Lord is not interested in how our voices blend together as much as you do it with grace in your hearts. I remember a good brother that has gone on to be with the Lord that loved to sing the songs of Zion. He did not have the voice but had the heart, no one loved to sing any better than him because the words had special meaning to him because Christ was dwelling in him richly. Oh sometimes I wish that we would quit trying to sing that others might hear, that we might just open our mouths and let it fly thinking only of praising God.
