Under clear skies, wind from the east north east at four mph, with the temperature at forty-five degrees.

"For I would that ye know what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;" (Colossians 2:1-2)

Sometimes I am asked; "Why do you preach the gospel believing that your preaching has no bearing on the end destiny to whom you are preaching to? I think Paul says it best in these two verses. Paul is not concerned with trying to save them from eternal ruin, because Christ has already taken care of that. Yet Paul is concerned about what the gospel has them. It brings the good news of salvation, it enlightens the truth, it manifests Christ in the inner man, and it brings peace to the soul. He says; I preach to you because my desire for you is that you have the best. My prayer is that your hearts be comforted, being knit together in love, that you might have the full assurance of understanding and to acknowledge the mystery of God because this is your assurance.
