"And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;" (Colossians 1:18-10)

Man in his natural state has always wanted to have the preeminence, man wants to be noticed, man wants to be first, man wants everyone's attention, to say; Look what am! Yet the church is made up of those that are saved by the grace of God, those that have been made alive in Christ, those that have been made to see their depravity and realize that they are nothing and less than nothing. Have you ever seem those that think they are something that would give the others preeminence? You see there was only one that all fulness dwells and that is the Son of God. He is the beginning, the first born from the dead. He had the power to lay down his life and to take it up again, and this is just what he did. He was able to accomplish his mission to save his people from their sins. Do you not feel this morning that he deserves to have the preeminence?
